Italian Magazine Panorama Paint Tsipras and Varoufakis as Clowns on Cover

Calling the referendum and the Greek government’s handling of its current crisis a “farce,” Italian magazine Panorama has depicted Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras and finance minister Yanis Varoufakis as clowns on its front cover. The tragedy of Athens turns into a farce,” the headline reads.

The international media is ridiculing the Greek leadership on its handling of negotiating with international creditors, most notably the recent “flip flops” of prime minister Alexis Tsipras when in one day’s time he sought a deal with the Europeans in the form of a conciliatory letter, then went on national Greek television arguing for a “No” vote to the referendum.
